Burlington Northern 36' Riveted Steel Caboose, Offset Cupola #11458

• This 36’ riveted steel caboose with offset cupola is green with yellow ends and white lettering and runs on Bettendorf Swing Motion trucks. Built in 1930 for the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad, this caboose was later rolled into Burlington Northern after the CB&Q merged with Northern Pacific and Great Northern Railway. After the merger it received a fresh coat of BN Green along with a stencil denoting “Yard Service Only.” It continued to serve the railroad through the late 1970s before being retired.
