Volume 39 covers the Golden State Route beginning in Tucumcari, N.M. Railroad west to El Paso and then continue west to Los Angeles. Beginning in Tucumcari, New Mexico, where SP interchanged with Rock Island and proceeding westward to El Paso. You’ll see all the trains that operated along this line. Nos 3-4 Golden State Ltd. Nos 39-40, Imperial. Nos. 47 Mail & Express and many freights also, the line between Tucumcari and El Paso is also where SP’s Lima built AC-9 articulateds spent their careers. once we arrive in El Paso, and head west toward Los Angeles, we add the trains along the Sunset Route and a variety of Freight trains that operated on both the North and South Lines between El Paso & Tucson. SPv38 featured photos on the North Line, while the South Line is the former El Paso & Southwestern Line with photos in Douglas and Tombstone. Also included are photos in Nogales.
